I believe that some people were put in the world not realizing that they have a sign somewhere on them that states "please pull me over." Lucky for me, my husband is one these individuals. It seems like he ends up getting a ticket every year. It is crazy to me that he always gets a ticket out of something he does out of complete innocence. He doesn't ever seem to get pulled over speeding, running a red light, etc. It is always something "ridiculous" in my opinion. Last Monday is a good example of what I am talking about. He along with everyone other employee that he works with, pull out of the business in to the center lane on Rangeline. When they get a chance, they then will pull out onto Rangeline. I personally think that it is the only way to get out without waiting ten minutes or more some days. Also, my husband is from St. Louis, so this is definitely the way he is used to driving.
Unfortunately, when he pulled out on Monday, he was pulled over and informed that the center lane is for turning only. He was also given a court date and it resulted in a fine of $112.00 and we are still unsure if this is going to show up on our insurance. I just think that it really stinks that first of all, the lane cannot be used for this purpose. Secondly, I do not understand why he got ticketed. There is nothing around Joplin that I have seen that would state that doing that is illegal. How are we supposed to know? I just don't know that I can agree with it. If he would have been stopped for speeding or running red lights, I would completely understand. This however, just confuses me. I definitely appreciate our law enforcement, but I really wish they would have given him a warning for this type of issue.
