PiYO
I have decided that I want to take my life in a new direction. I have worked out for years, but I never stick with it to where I see the results that I would like to see. I finally decided that what I need is accountability. I had a friend that began working out with me five times a week. This was all going well until she moved. I was then left looking for a new workout partner. I found my new workout partner, and we have really had fun going to the gym, measuring our waistlines, checking our weight, and comparing results. However, she has now moved as well, and I am left all alone and needing that accountability again. In a result to hopefully help this problem once and for all, I am going to Tulsa his weekend to become a certified PiYO instructor. This is a workout program that I have not found in the Joplin area, but when I watch videos of it, I find intriguing to me. I am hoping that this will open a new door for me, and help me be prepared for summer, as well as bring a new fun fitness program to the Joplin area. My only thing left to do now, is to contact places to see where I can teach and what places will be the best fit for me. I am so nervous about heading up a class on my own, but at the same time I am so excited to see with this new journey takes me.
Unique Full Moon
As I was reading through the news today trying to decide which topic was interesting for me to blog about, I came across the perfect one. I really enjoy watching the moon come up in the evening and see it set in the sky. I think it is a beautiful thing, especially if the skies are cloudy and the moon pops in beautiful whiteness out from behind a looming cloud. With that being said, it is no wonder than I picked to blog about the unique full moon we are expected to have tomorrow.
Tomorrow afternoon we are expected to experience a unique full moon. These moons are only viewable about every twenty years. The last one was seen in 1993. This moon is referred to as a "supermoon." Scientists say that it is not to be associated with any natural disasters. The moon will just simply be the closest to Earth that it ever will be for 2011. It will appear larger as well as brighter during this time. http://www.space.com/11161-supermoon-full-moon-science-infographic.html In October, the moon will be the furthest from Earth for this year. The only thing out of the ordinary expected from this is that it will result in a dramatically large range of high and low ocean tides. http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20110318/sc_space/supermoonrisesbiggestfullmoonin18yearsoccurssaturdaynight I will definitely be keeping an eye out to see this moon that will look pretty impressive.

A Wedding Fit For A Princess
I have always thought the world of Princess Diana. I believe she was an amazing individual and a great example to follow. With that being said, I have been one of the fans that have been following the Royal Engagement and upcoming wedding of her son Prince William when I have the extra time. I am going to be one of the many that will be watching the wedding take place on April 29th. I find it very interesting how their wedding is not just going to take place in the church and that is it. They will be taking a route that goes past several famous landmarks on their way to Westminster Abbey. http://www.officialroyalwedding2011.org/blog/2011/March/10/Pictures-of-the-Royal-Wedding-Procession-route
However, in all of my reading up and listening to the latest on this important event, I have not yet heard about things that are always discussed about weddings in the United States. By that I mean, things like the wedding theme, colors, flowers, songs, and other things we always hear discussed when talking about a big wedding here. About the only things I know about for sure, is that the reception will take place at Buckingham Palace, the wedding at Westminster Abbey, and the processional along famous landmarks. Maybe noone else cares too much of these types of things, but I am a hopeless romantic, and this kind of thing just grabs my attention.

Earthquakes, Tsunami's , Family, and Friends
About 4:30 A.M. this morning, I was awake when I would have preferred to be sleeping peacefully. After lying there for over thirty minutes with sleep seemingly far away, I decided to grab my phone and check up on what was going on in the Facebook World. Never did I expect to see something that would cause so much shock, awe, and concern.
I discovered that an earthquake of the fifth greatest magnitude in a hundred years had hit Japan. I also saw there that people in the United States were now at risk for a Tsunami as well as Japan. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/03/11/thousands-roam-tokyo-streets-massive-tsunami-devastates-region/ This absolutely astounded me, and I began to think about all of my old high school classmates as well as my best friends. Some of these individuals were in Hawaii, some in California, and some in Japan. I frantically waited to see them post something on Facebook in hopes of knowing that they were alright. Thankfully, all of the posted within an hour of me discovering all of this, and they are all safe. The areas that got hit the hardest are not the areas that these individuals reside in. http://video.foxnews.com/v/4580409/anatomy-of-a-tsunami#/v/4579888/incredible-video-massive-wall-of-water-sweeps-ashore-in-japan/?playlist_id=87485
So many times I hear of catastrophes like such as mentioned, but I never have had it hit "close to home." All in all I am glad they are all safe, but at the same time, my heart goes out to those that have lost so much and that are suffering like we will never know.

Annual Ticket
I believe that some people were put in the world not realizing that they have a sign somewhere on them that states "please pull me over." Lucky for me, my husband is one these individuals. It seems like he ends up getting a ticket every year. It is crazy to me that he always gets a ticket out of something he does out of complete innocence. He doesn't ever seem to get pulled over speeding, running a red light, etc. It is always something "ridiculous" in my opinion. Last Monday is a good example of what I am talking about. He along with everyone other employee that he works with, pull out of the business in to the center lane on Rangeline. When they get a chance, they then will pull out onto Rangeline. I personally think that it is the only way to get out without waiting ten minutes or more some days. Also, my husband is from St. Louis, so this is definitely the way he is used to driving.
Unfortunately, when he pulled out on Monday, he was pulled over and informed that the center lane is for turning only. He was also given a court date and it resulted in a fine of $112.00 and we are still unsure if this is going to show up on our insurance. I just think that it really stinks that first of all, the lane cannot be used for this purpose. Secondly, I do not understand why he got ticketed. There is nothing around Joplin that I have seen that would state that doing that is illegal. How are we supposed to know? I just don't know that I can agree with it. If he would have been stopped for speeding or running red lights, I would completely understand. This however, just confuses me. I definitely appreciate our law enforcement, but I really wish they would have given him a warning for this type of issue.

The Humane Way for Animals to Pass Away
I receive CBS news updates on my Twitter account. Those notifications are also sent to my phone. I do this due to the fact that I normally don't have the time to watch television or sit around and read the news online or in the paper. This week, my attention was drawn to a particular story that was out of the ordinary to what I normally receive. The story was about a puppy that was "put to sleep" but ended up surviving. The puppy was one of five stray dogs in the Oklahoma City area that Sulpher animal control officer Scott Prall put to sleep on Friday of last week. He thought he put this dog to sleep at least. However, Saturday morning he went out to find the trash bin with dead dogs in it to have an alive dog in it. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/03/03/earlyshow/living/petplanet/main20038675.shtml?tag=pop
After reading this article it made me start thinking about what is exactly the "humane" way to put animals down. My husband is a total country boy, and he feels that nothing is a better option that a "bullet to the head." However, I could NEVER let him do that to one of our pets. I always was for putting animals to sleep, but this is the second story like this that I have heard of in the past year. With that being said, it made me start thinking about how I would want my animals to pass on if I was put in the situation. I know that the animals must suffer from a certain amount of pain with any option given when it comes to their passing. However, I feel for myself, that I would want to give my own pets some kind of pain relievers, and just make their passing as comfortable as possible. I would not want any kind of aid. I want them to pass away on their own. I probably feel this way due to the enormous place in my heart that I have for animals. Noone else probably agrees with my option, but this is my personal decision that I have came to as a result of reading this article this past week.
