Drug Wars in Mexico

This week the situation with the drug wars in Mexico really hit home with my family and friends.  A missionary that had been working in Mexico for close to 40 years was shot by drug cartel yesterday.  A truck approached them, and when they sped up the truck begin following them, and their truck was riddled with bullets, and one bullet struck the lady in the head.  My dad had stayed in this family's home when he was younger, and they were such nice people.  You just can't help but wonder why she of all people was attacked by them.  Her husband drove against traffic at approximately 120mph for around 70 miles.  I can't even imagine what he must have been going through while trying to drive her to medical help and safety.  I had never really given the whole situation in Mexico much thought, but now I am curious about the whole ordeal going on, and why it has gotten so out of hand.  I will post some links of some of the different stories just in case they are of interest to anyone.

My Gripe with Financial Aid

This is going to be more of a gripe fest than anything.  The school's financial aid about drives me crazy.  I turned in all my financial aid last semester, but I didn't end up being able to attend.  I'm finally enrolled this semester, and I'm very excited to finally be on the "right track." I have contacted my financial aid advisor, she said that I had done my part and she was pushing everything through, and that I should be good by Friday.  Unfortunately, here it is Thursday, and nothing is finished.  I have done everything on my part, but I'm still waiting on them.  I'm beginning to get nervous because I just recently got a job after being unemployed for almost six months.  Since I have been unemployed, I obviously don't have the money to make the first payment if I set up payment plans.  This just irritates me slightly.  I hate how every time I've been enrolled, everything goes smoothly except for the financial aid part.  The most important part in my opinion.  This hasn't just happened to me, but to my siblings and friends as well.  I totally understand that there are thousands of us to take care of, but this just stresses me out.  I guess the moral of this post would be, why does financial aid have to end up being so difficult, and stress me out every semester?  This semester is off to a pretty great start other than for this.

Welcome

My name is Faith Knight.  I am a very happily married mother of a beautiful baby boy, and I have the two coolest dogs on the planet. ;)  I work full time, and I have waited far too long to continue my education and get my Bachelors.  I am very excited to be a student again, but I am extremely nervous about it as well.  I am majoring in Marketing because I'd really like to be a pharmaceutical sales rep.  I've wanted to do this for years, and I am one step closer to my goals.  My little family stays extremely busy all the time, so this may be a real challenge for me, but I love a good challenge.
